The CPUC sets and monitors insurance standards, and examines the Operational and Financial Fitness of an operator.
Don't be fooled by boat operators who are not CPUC-authorized scheduled passeger operators claiming to run "Day Trips" or "Excursions" to Catalina.

*** ON-LINE RESERVATIONS ***

No need to stand in line at office ticket counter if on-line reservation made before 4 PM the day prior to departure. When entering Fisherman's Village parking lot, go straight ahead and park on the right of El Torito Restaurant next to the water. Walk a few yards to the left to our boarding ramp with the sign above it, "Catalina Marina Del Rey Flyer." Present your on-line confirmation and pick up your pre-printed boarding passes from agent at top of boarding ramp 30 minutes before departure.

Ferry to Avalon and Two Harbors on Catalina Island from Marina del Rey (Fisherman's Village)

The "MARINA FLYER" our new high-speed 149 passenger catamaran can make the crossing to Avalon in About 1 hour 30 minutes and to Two Harbors in about 1 hour and 10 minutes for a direct trip, depending on sea and wind conditions. At times, we do triangle runs, stopping first at Avalon before Two Harbors, or first at Two Harbors before Avalon. The trip between Avalon and Two Harbors is approximately 30 minutes. Our second boat, THE "TWO HARBORS EXPRESS," a 149-passenger monohull boat, takes about 15 minutes additional.
